Cast Iron Underdrains

Drawing below shows how cast iron underdrain sections are used along railroad right-of-way.

Ballast or gravel-filled road bed permits ready drainage

of surface water into underdrain whence it is conducted to the storm sewer.

Note drainage intake holes in each section of cast iron underdrain.
